Episode Description:
Their rescuer is Tekkaman Sol, which Rebin and Honda recognize as they worked on some of the
original designs of the project that Balzac “stole”. Tekkaman Sol continues to attack the
Radamu, as Blade watches in shock. Tekkaman Sol does very well against the “BEM” type Radamu
who are attacking the site. Noal and Aki on the “Blue Earth” see planes arrive which they
recognize as EDF forces. Shortly the collider station is under EDF control, their team leaders
including Dr. Maro. Balzac dismounts from the Tekkaman Sol armor with Maro’s help. The Space
Knights recognize him from his time among them as the journalist. Balzac tells D-Boy that the
Earth will no longer have to rely on someone who is more monster than human to protect them
from the Radamu. This barb strikes home with more power than Balzac knows, and D-Boy turns
wordlessly and returns to the “Blue Earth” as Balzac laughs cruelly. Back at base, Freeman
tells Miri he knew Balzac was a spy, and gave him the plans - “They had the funds to build the
armor; we didn’t,” he explains. “But...poor D-Boy, they’ve made him feel useless!” Miri
responds. “We can’t rely on him alone for our defense,” Freeman shakes his head.
The EDF are powering up the collider. The Space Knights discuss the situation while D-Boy
tries to sleep. “The problem is, that thing may be good against normal Radamu, but what about
against other Tekkamen?” Aki asks. “D- Boy, what do you think--?” D-Boy ignores her and walks
off. Colbert calls and gives Balzac more orders. The EDF crew has managed to produce some
sort of power source from using the collider, and Maro is to return to HQ with it. “Together
we’ll defeat the Radamu!” Balzac tells Maro as they clasp hands. D- Boy, with only Pegas as
itness, is pounding his bare hands against a metal wall. Above, the Knights watch as Maro
prepares to return to EDF HQ on a plane; but then the Radamu attack the landing field, clearly
intent on preventing the humans from getting the material Maro carries back ‘home’. Balzac
runs for his armor and Aki goes to find D-Boy. Maro ejects from the damaged plane, but the
Radamu cut his parachute, and the young man falls groundward. Aki finds D-Boy, and tells him
he must armor up - the Radamu are attacking. “Let Balzac handle it,” he sullenly replies.
“You can’t let Balzac and his prejudices stand in your way,” she says fiercely. “You were
fighting the Radamu long before Balzac showed up. You’ve earned your place among us.” “Oh,
very well, I’ll try,” D-Boy says, but it’s clear his heart isn’t in it. Blade and Pegas take
off. Balzac finds out that he can’t fight Radamu very well when he runs out of ammo - and
Blade saves his life. Not that Balzac shows any gratitude. “Show them what you’re made of,
D-Boy!” Noal exults. Maro is trying to get back to safety, but finds himself facing a bunch
of Radamu - and calls desperately for his friend Balzac. Maro throws the case to Tekkaman Sol
even as one of the aliens skewers the scientist. Balzac, having reloaded, goes insane as he
watches his friend die. Then D-Boy starts to hallucinate again, and collapses under Radamu
attack, paralyzed even as his armor starts to overload. This time it is Blade who is rescued
by Balzac. The Radamu finished off, Balzac runs to Maro. The dying scientist makes Balzac
promise to get the case to Colbert, then dies in his friend’s arms. The pilot then blames D
-Boy for Maro’s death. “You’re a monster, nothing but a monster!” he cries, even as D-Boy
succumbs to complete nervous collapse. Balzac orders the EDF men to cart the catatonic young
man off, and the Space Knights are helpless to prevent it. As the episode closes, we see
D-Boy, seemingly lost in his own nightmares, locked up in the EDF’s brig.
