Miyuki's Decision

Episode Description:
Miri and the Chief are both working their
computer stations like madmen as the episode opens. Rebin and Honda are busy repairing a badly
damaged Pegas. D-Boy is working out in the weight room (isn’t it wonderful that these people
all have hobbies to occupy their copious spare time?) when Aki finds him. Noal is beside him,
also using the exercise machinery. Noal glances from D-Boy to Aki and tries to depart to leave
the two alone, but Rebin runs him down enroute to informing D-Boy that they’ve revamped Pegas’
power system. Aki follows Noal out as Noal fumes about the Chief’s cold heartedness. The
Chief, however, is having problems coming up with a new design for Pegas that will work. In the
desert, Miyuki is struggling across more sand dunes. “I’ve got to find my older brother,
Takaya,” she whispers as she collapses in the hot sun. Evil is still searching, and flies over
a small Arab encampment. Within, the unconscious Miyuki begins to wake up. Unknown to the
Arabs, the crater they are camped beside is home for a Radamu. It is disturbed and awakened
when a camel breaks free, and comes up after several of the Arab children. Miyuki turns into
Rapier and rescues the children - and then finds the Arabs, even the children she has saved,
drawing away from her in horror. “It’s a monster!” someone whispers. Miyuki snaps, and cries
out in agonizing pain, shooting off like a shell - only to fall back to the desert far away.
Shinya shows up where the EDF is rebuilding their base, dressed to look like D-Boy. (While
not identical, the two twins do look remarkably alike.) One of the pilots thinks he IS D-Boy
(too bad he doesn’t notice Shinya doesn’t have his older brother’s facial scar) and is
persuaded to take him to the Space Knight base. The Space Knights are all in the main
monitoring room as the Chief brings in the computer disk as Miri yells “Victory!”. They can
finish the revisions to Pegas, which should help D-Boy remain as Blade longer as well as
counter the “ball lightning” weapon Evil has demonstrated. Noal is still upset, telling the
Chief that D-Boy is a human being, not a machine to be programmed for better battle responses.
They argue back and forth for a minute, and then the EDF plane approaches - passing through
the outer defenses. Shinya turns into Evil, and the plane explodes - Evil has gotten through
the perimeter defenses through subterfuge. Until the work on Pegas is finished, however,
D-Boy cannot turn into Blade; so Noal must take the Sol Tekkaman out to try and buy them
enough time to complete the work. Rebin has to hold D-Boy back by physical force as he
fights to become Blade and fight the attacking Evil. Aki arrives and convinces him to wait;
only the completion of the “Hypertech Adjustment” will allow him to defeat Evil this time -
it should help him counter Evil’s new “plasma ball” weapon. Reluctantly, D-Boy agrees.
Outside, Evil is screaming for Blade to come out and fight him. In the desert far away,
Miyuki is struggling across the deep sand again, blanket held tight around her. (Don’t ask
me WHERE she got the bloody blanket - she was totally naked during the transformation
sequences, and didn’t have a blanket when she turned INTO Rapier this time...)
