Episode Description:
D-Boy continues to react to the news that his father is dead, dropping to his knees in
heart-felt pain. Noal, Rebin, Miri and Honda come in, and are shocked to see all three in
tears. Freeman comes in next. Miyuki tells them that the Radamu are planning another attack,
this one to include several new Tekkamen. “I was supposed to be one of them, but escaped
before the final steps of the process could be completed,” she says bleakly. She also tells
them that the Radamu have developed “flowers” with a crystalline center. A human entrapped in
those crystals will be encased in modified Tekkaman armor, and his or her life-force slowly
leached away to feed the aliens. “Most people cannot control the Tekkaman armor; they are
instead controlled by it. They will exist only to feed the Radamu their life’s energy. Out
of all those on the ARGO, only eight of us could be turned into Tekkaman Weapon Systems.”
“Where is the main Radamu base now?” Freeman asks. “On the Moon,” is the answer. It seems
the Radamu mother ship landed there, and has been buried in the lunar dust of one of the huge
“seas”. Inside that ship, three more Tekkaman emerge from their pods, their armor completely
formed, and each under the complete control of a Radamu parasite. “Axe, Lance, Sword...you
are now ready to go into battle,” they are addressed. “You will join Evil on the Orbital Ring,
and from there go to destroy Blade and Rapier.” They fly off en masse towards the Ring;
leaving behind Tekkaman Omega. (He is festooned with various suckers and tubes - whether to
nourish his growing form or implement planned changes - or both - is not made clear.) At the
Space Knight base, Noal, Aki and D-Boy are ready to charge off into battle against the Radamu
Lunar base, but Freeman stops them. “We’ve got to plan this, not run off half-cocked,” he
says. Miyuki runs toward D-Boy, but collapses into Freeman’s arms instead, and is entering
the first stage of armoring up (glowing lines all over her body) without conscious control.
Freeman calls for the doctors, and D-Boy is distracted from his need to charge off after the
enemy. Meanwhile, the three new Tekkaman approach the Orbital Ring, as Miyuki goes back into
surgery. Freeman and Miri are at the computers again, analyzing data in an attempt to discover
what may have gone wrong with Miyuki’s Tekkaman System. Aki and D-Boy are present when Miyuki
wakes up, and she remembers some of the good times the three younger Aiba children had before
they went into space. One gets the feeling she is pretty sure she isn’t going to live much
longer. Now inside the Orbital Ring, the three new Tekkamen face Evil, who is still within his
own “bubble” undergoing changes - but Shinya is still aware, able to speak to them. “Wait
until I’m ready - together we’ll defeat Tekkaman Blade!” On the homeworld, Colbert is making
speeches to his EDF staff, comparing their current plan to retake the Orbital Ring to
Eisenhower’s Operation Overlord - the plan to re-take Europe from Hitler. (Yes, Colbert is
obviously egotistical as well as paranoid!) He shows them the newest weapon they will use -
a huge missile with a new type of warhead. D-Boy, Aki and Noal have taken Miyuki to a beach,
but the miasma of the Radamu pods puts something of a damper on their ‘picnic’. Colbert
informs Freeman of the new plans and weapons. Freeman is upset when Colbert mentions the new
warhead: “Your plans may well destroy ALL life on Earth!” he objects. Miyuki asks D- Boy
about Aki as they walk the beach, and says she hopes they’ll be happy. Freeman and Colbert
are still arguing about the new weapon and Colbert’s plans to use it against the Orbital Ring
(sorry, my Japanese isn’t good enough yet to be able to follow all the technical jargon...from
what I can get, Freeman thinks that the Ring may come apart, and all its pieces rain down on
Earth. Needless to say, a firestorm of such large meteors will damage the planet even more
than the Radamu already have!) Colbert is determined, and ignores the warnings. (I get the
feeling he’d rather destroy the Earth than let the Radamu have it.) The argument is
interrupted as another Radamu attack starts. Noal, Aki, Miyuki and D-Boy head back for base.
D-Boy becomes Blade after warning Miyuki she’s in no shape to follow suit and become Rapier.
By the time Noal and Aki get Miyuki back to base, she is in agony - the energy being used by
D-Boy as Blade seems to resound in her, causing her own inactive armor to act up. Blade is
then faced by four humans, who were once his fellow crew members on the ARGO. “I’m not alone
this time, older brother,” Shinya says softly, as the four laugh evilly as they become
Tekkamen. Miyuki is driven into even further agony as the energy from the four changes
interacts with her improperly controlled Tekkaman System, and Blade moves in to attack his four
enemies.
