Life-Threatening Battle

Episode Description:
Unfortunately, Blade’s courage cannot counteract the fact he’s now facing four foes whose power
equals his own - only the inexperience of the new three give him any chance at all. Miyuki is
on the operating table again, her very life threatened by the fact she cannot control the
energies generated within her body by the Tekkaman System. Noal in Sol Tekkaman is fighting
Radamu BEMS as Blade continues his own battles. The Space Knight pilot realizes that Blade is
facing more than one Tekkaman foe and realizes he’s going to have to defeat the Radamu - Blade
is too busy to fight the bug-like aliens! Blade escapes from close combat for long enough to
try and catch all four Radamu Tekkamen in a full-power blast. The four leap out of the way of
the blast before it can hit them, but depart to continue the battle later. Noal has to
half-carry the exhausted D-Boy back into the base to see his sister; then the base rocks and
D-Boy knows that the Radamu Tekkamen as well as the Radamu are attacking once more. One of
Colbert’s juniors, who heard the argument Freeman had with Colbert, warns Freeman that Colbert
is preparing to launch the missile - and then is gunned down by Colbert himself. “You can’t
stop me, Freeman,” Colbert laughs. (Can we say he’s become something of a megalomaniac?)
Honda arrives in sickbay to tell the assembled Space Knights what Colbert is planning. They
realize that Blade is the only one who can stop the missile - even if it means the Space
Knight’s base will be destroyed by Evil, Lance, Axe, and Sword. “We’ll evacuate the base,”
Freeman says. “D-Boy, we’ll take care of your little sister, I promise.” Miyuki tells him
that stopping the missile is more important than she is; he must think of this new mission
and leave her behind. “I’m glad my big brother found friends as good as all of you are,” she
says softly. Shortly thereafter the “Blue Earth” launches, taking off from a track
disintegrating as one of the Radamu Tekkamen hits it with a blast. “We won’t be needing it
after the base is destroyed anyway,” Honda says sadly as they watched the launch track collapse
behind the spaceship. Evil takes off after the ship, knocking it out of the sky. Unnoticed,
Pegas has also launched. Evil realizes too late that the “Blue Earth” launch was a diversion.
“Blade has to still be back at the base! He wouldn’t run away from this fight, not with all
his friends still there!” Noal struggles to land the badly-damaged “Blue Earth”; he is the
only one on board. Aki watches over Miyuki, and the two talk a little; Miyuki realizes that
Aki loves her older brother Takaya. Colbert is ranting against the Radamu as he prepares to
launch the missile, then sees Blade arrive. Colbert refuses to listen to Blade’s arguments
against launch; the General has obviously become irrational as the argument continues. Blade
takes off to try and stop the missile itself from launching even as Colbert laughs hysterically
and pushes the button. The missile begins to lift off. Blade hits it with a full-energy blast
with a power assist from Pegas. The resulting explosion levels the EDF HQ, incinerating
Colbert and company. The four Radamu Tekkamen are tearing apart the Space Knight base even as
the evacuation continues. Miyuki struggles to her feet, and gut-punches Aki when the older
woman tries to stop her. “My older brother needs you, Aki,” she whispers as she makes her way
out of the hospital room and finds the nearest picture window. Her armor is still trying to
manifest. Falling out of the broken window, she lets the Rapier armor come, and flies out to
try and fight her former comrades. She lacks the control they have over their power flow, and
burns brightly with excess energy as she flies. D-Boy senses her agony and speeds up even
more, but the Radamu Tekkamen are showing no mercy. Miyuki is soon up against a cliff wall,
her wrists pinned to the stone by Evil’s lances. Then they start cutting her up slowly,
knowing her pain will bring Blade like a bonfire draws a moth. Miyuki knows this, too, and -
dying anyway from the injuries her torturers have inflicted - deliberately allows her control
to collapse completely, resulting in a huge power overload as she dies. The blast from her
power overload certainly shows how much energy a Tekkaman Weapon System is capable of
generating. Somewhere beyond, “Blue Earth” has landed - if not too softly - and Noal is
unconscious at the controls. The Space Knight base has been evacuated, and the Knights
themselves scattered to the four winds.
