Episode Description:
The surviving Space Knight team moves slowly across a Radamu-pod infected landscape in a large
multi-track vehicle. Rebin is using its onboard computer to check out Pegas’ systems. Rebin
remarks that the tekkaset crystal imbedded in Pegas’ chest has changed shape. D-Boy replies
that it has had to change - as he learned to use more of the armor’s systems, the armor had to
change to accommodate the increased power and abilities of its wearer. Those changes are
reflected in the crystal. D-Boy asks if they’ve heard from the Chief, Honda, or any of the
others; Aki tells him the group split into several teams during evacuation and they have had no
contact with the others since that time - including Freeman. “He and Honda were working on
something, but they wouldn’t tell us what,” D-Boy is told. Their vehicle is starting to run
out of fuel. Rebin sees what looks to be an intact if small town; Noal heads in that direction
in the hopes of scaring up some fuel. They stop for the night before reaching the town and
cook a meal over an outdoor fire. Aki is forced to admit she’s no cook; she cuts her own
fingers more than the potatoes she’s trying to peel, and retreats back inside the transporter.
D-Boy and Noal have gone into town to try and purchase the fuel they need, but find it all
under the control of a self-proclaimed warlord. They are refused their request, and under the
eyes of the heavily armed guards have no choice but to head back to camp empty handed. A
youngster offers them a bouquet of roses; Noal suggests it might be a nice gift for Aki. D-Boy
initially stalks off, but Noal keeps at him as they walk toward the ruined church that was at
one time the center of the town. They return to camp, where Rebin chews out Noal and D-Boy
retreats to the top of a local hill to brood. Aki walks up to join him, and he tells her he’s
been thinking about Miyuki. Aki gives him a computer disk that contains the readings Sol
Tekkaman was able to get on Tekkaman Axe during their recent battle. “Perhaps this will start
to give us the key,” she says. The next morning they are back in the town trying to get energy
cells to fuel the transporter, but the local warlord again refuses their request. They drive
off as locals line up to get their ration of energy from the storage area. Radamu arrive in
force, attracted by the power emanations. Noal wants to keep on driving, but Aki and D-Boy
stop him; they cannot let the innocent civilians be killed because the local warlord has been
an ass. As people run, the little girl drops her flowers, which are stomped on by the
panicking crowd. The girl herself falls, her leg badly cut by shrapnel. Tekkaman Blade arrives
and battles the Radamu. The local warlord yells at his troops to stand fast, but they join the
running mob. Noal in Sol Tekkaman walks up. “So the Space Knights aren’t good enough to get
any of the energy generated by your power plant?” he asks sarcastically. “Looks like we’re
good enough to save your butt, old man!” He then joins Blade in the battle against the aliens.
Blade attacks but cannot use his power blast when he realizes the injured young girl is in the
line of fire. He shortly finds himself in big trouble. Aki finally sees the youngster and
rescues her, moving out of the line of fire with her in tow. Then Blade can freely blast his
newest foe into its component atoms. As a result, this time the warlord lets the Space Knight
vehicle be refueled first, and is practically on his knees asking for forgiveness. As Aki
watches the fuel gauges slowly rise to their full levels, D-Boy walks quietly into the room and
puts a bouquet of flowers on the chair next to her. “Thank you, Aki, for everything,” he says
awkwardly and makes a rapid exit. *Thank you, D-Boy...* Aki thinks as she picks up the flowers
to smell them.
