Episode Description:
Shinya is doing one-armed push-ups in his cell-like room in the Radamu Lunar base, classical
music playing on a battered boom-box near him. His determination is etched in every line of
his body and face. On Earth, Godaado is sitting behind a huge stain-glassed window in what
looks to have once been a very large church before it got appropriated as Axe's headquarters.
He's still hurting from where Blade nearly disemboweled him. "Blade's a better fighter than I
gave him credit for," he murmurs to himself, half in admiration and pride. It turns out Godaado,
back in the days before the Saturn Expedition, had been the one to train both Takaya and Shinya
Aiba in the martial arts. The carry-all is now heading out across a large body of water, Noal
appreciating the sun as he pilots it. "The computer says Axe headed in this direction. I
wonder what he's up to now." Miri replies that they'll have to hope they can defeat Axe so
D-Boy can get his tekkaset crystal. "I wonder what he wants to do with it," she wonders. Rebin
is chewing out Balzac as he looks at the Tekkaman Green armor Pegas is holding. "What did you
do to the poor thing? How the heck do you expect me to fix this piece of junk?" Rebin demands.
"So sue me!" Balzac returns, obviously trying to hold back laughter. "Put it down, Pegas,"
Rebin instructs. "Yes, sir," the robot returns, and dumps the battle suit on the floor almost
on top of Rebin. "Do YOU have it in for me too, you hunk of iron?" the bishonen screams. "Oops,
sorry," Pegas replies. Unable to contain himself any longer, Balzac succumbs to a laughing
fit. Above on deck, D-Boy is listening to classical music - the same music Shinya was listening
to earlier - when Aki joins him. "That's a pretty piece," Aki says. "It was Shinya's favorite,"
D-Boy replies sadly. On the moon, Shinya faces Tekkaman Omega. Shinya wants another try at
Blade, but Omega tells him that he's already had his chance and failed. Axe, Lance and Sword
get their turns while Evil goes through 'remedial training.' "Older Brother Kengo, Takaya won't
be beaten so easily," Shinya replies. He remembers a race the twins were in, back on Earth
before going into space. Shinya had come in first, with Takaya a close second; Takaya had been
the first to congratulate him. The older, more outgoing twin had waved to the shouting crowd,
and Shinya felt that Takaya was stealing the kudos that were rightfully his as a result. "He
always got all the credit, no matter what we did," Shinya tells Kengo resentfully. On deck, Aki
and Takaya are looking up at the full moon, as D-Boy wonders what his brother is doing right
now. "I wonder if he can enjoy music any more, or anything else other than battle," he says.
Shinya is still venting spleen to Kengo, while Godaado is wondering how long it will take for
Blade to arrive. Axe and Evil are both remembering past occurrences when either Shinya felt
slighted in favor of Takaya, Takaya doing better than his younger twin - or both. Godaado
sometimes spurred Shinya on during training sessions by unfavorably comparing his efforts to
those of Takaya. D-Boy is recounting the same events to Aki. "I don't think my father or
Godaado realized how resentful Shinya was," he says. "I guess I didn't really think about it,
either. Now the Radamu have taken that resentment and turned it into a killing rage - directed
at me. I loved my little brother, but the Radamu have murdered the Shinya I knew." Godaado is
wondering what would have happened if Takaya had served the Radamu. "Shinya - Lord Evil - is
formidable; but Takaya was always the better fighter. If Blade had been loyal to the Radamu -
what a warrior he would have made for the Masters! It's a shame we have to kill him..."D-Boy,
Shinya and Godaado each separately recalls a survival exercise they had gone on with Kouzou as
part of their training for the Saturn Expedition. They'd been navigating a river when a sudden
thunderstorm had caused a flash flood. Trapped in a cave by rising waters, the four had had to
try to climb up a cliff to escape. Lightning had toppled a tree that proceeded to knock both
Shinya and Takaya into the swollen, raging river. Both had managed to grab onto a big piece of
wood. As the log was temporarily jammed into some rocks, Kouzou and Godaado had reached them
and encouraged them to try and make their way to shore. Kouzou had pulled Shinya out first,
but had forced Takaya to climb out on his own power. "As if he thought I couldn't do it, but
expected Takaya could," Shinya says resentfully as he turns to leave. "And Takaya DID it...
that’s the sort of fighter he is!" D-Boy holds the remains of Miyuki's tekkaset in his hand.
"I've got to go on, and defeat the Radamu. That's what my father would have expected of me,"
he says. Below, Rebin proudly shows Balzac the green Tekkaman Sol. "See? It's all fixed!" he
declares gleefully. "Not bad, not bad at all...until I get it messed up again!" Balzac
teases gently. "Don't you dare!" Rebin replies, leaving the former EDF officer to look at his
armor. On Luna, Evil is armored up and using the Radamu equivalent of a holodeck to practice
fighting Blade. Gleefully he carves up his holographic foe. Even as the scene fades and Omega
congratulates him, Shinya realizes bitterly that fighting the real Takaya will be no where near
as easy...
