Yami To Shi No Ummei
Destiny Of Death And Darkness

.
. Episode Description:

The Radamu invasion forces are approaching all the few remaining human-controlled cities on Earth. While inspecting some Radamu spores, two human technicians are captured by Radamu "flowers" and are absorbed into their central crystals, basic Tekkaman armor already forming around their bodies. "So beautiful, yet so deadly," echoes the words of the younger man. Freeman has developed a rifle whose charge will weaken and damage the Tekkaman armor. Noal and Balzac are given it. They are to go out in Blue Earth and distract - hopefully put out of commission - Sword, while D-Boy will go on to the Orbital Ring. Balzac drops a photo and Noal picks it up, recognizing Mari and Vic hugging a happy Balzac. The older man grabs the picture back. The two talk about the possibility of their not returning from this mission. Rebin reports that the laser systems of the Ring are starting to all come back on line. If they can eliminate the danger posed by the remaining Radamu Tekkamen, there is a chance they may be able to re-take the home planet from the enemy. Freeman announces over planet-wide television that the final push is to start; we recognize many of those watching from previous episodes. (Rebin's friend Anna is actually wearing a skirt - hmm, wonder if they're hinting of a possible future romance between Rebin and the militia commander?!) The city nearest the old Space Knight base is being overrun by Radamu, and ground forces are trying to evacuate the inhabitants to a safer area. On the moon, Shinya is still undergoing changes to his biochemistry that will affect his Evil armor. A final power surge and he breaks free of his prison. The power lines of the Tekkaman armor manifest, and he hunches over in pain as he realizes that this is the result of his own new Blastor capability. *It's going to kill me, just as Takaya is dying,* he thinks bleakly before the Radamu mind-controls kick back in. His forehead mark glows, and even across the distance from Moon to Earth his thoughts are projected to his twin. "We haven't finished our battle, older brother. Meet me on the Orbital Ring," Shinya tells Takaya. D-Boy is struck by Shinya's air of quiet desperation, so different from his younger brother's earlier rantings. The other Space Knights note the look on his face, and he tells them he's just 'spoken' with Shinya. "He'll be waiting on the Orbital Ring for me," he says, and runs for the spaceship dock. "Aki, go with him," Freeman says. "Roger," Aki replies, as if Freeman could have stopped her. Freeman orders the Tekkamen Sol to take off in Blue Earth. Their mission will be to take out Tekkaman Sword. "D-Boy and Aki are on their way to the Ring; you'll also be riding shotgun for them," they are told. Sword sees the acceleration track for Blue Earth rise out of its hidden cavern, and leaves Omega's throneroom to attack even though she's worried by his silence. Blue Earth takes off, with Balzac and Noal its only crew. Sword is descending to meet them, and hits the spacecraft several times. Balzac goes out in Noal's Tekkaman Blue armor, along with Freeman's new weapon, to have it out with her. He leaves behind his treasured picture of his adopted family. Freeman's weapon has its desired effect, but Sword continues to fight through an act of sheer will. She drags her way up "Blue Earth's" wing to Balzac and drags him off the spacecraft. The Sol Tekkaman gets the Radamu Tekkaman in a bear hug, firing off his last shot at point-blank range. Together, both dying, they fall into Earth's gravity well. On the ground, Mari and Vic look up at the sky, and Mari has a very bad feeling that Balzac is in trouble. Before Hun Rii dies, Sword manages to get a final shot in at the Blue Earth, blowing off one of its wings. The spacecraft goes into a tailspin despite Noal's desperate efforts. Below, the Space Knights mourn the passing of their comrades. D-Boy and Aki are now on the Ring. D-Boy and Aki embrace tearfully, then D-Boy closes the door behind him as he goes to find Evil. He finds him sitting somewhat despondently in a dark corner of the corridor ahead. Shinya looks tired and drained, and his voice is that of a man resigned to his own death, his earlier rage burned away - as much by what Kengo/Omega has done to him as anything else, I suspect. "One way or another, this will be our last battle," Shinya says. "I know you need my tekkaset - only with it will you be able to defeat Omega. But you'll have to kill me to get it, older brother," he continues, rising to his feet. "Shinya..." Takaya whispers.
