Episode Description:
Aki runs to the nearest port window, watching in agony as two lights - one red, one green-white
- fly an intricate pattern in the space around the Ring. It is Evil and Blade engaged in battle.
For all that Evil seems to have lost heart in the Radamu cause, the Radamu mind control will
not allow him to slack off his efforts to kill Blade. Each does heavy damage to the other, and
must use precious energy to make repairs to their armor. On Earth, the Radamu are still
advancing, still capturing humans and creating armor around them to drain their captives of
bio-energy. Freeman tells his subordinates that everything rests with Blade now; without any
Sol Tekkamen remaining he is the only one who can defeat Evil and Omega. Evil is trying to
strangle Blade, and yells at him that Blade can't afford to stop fighting. "You have to defeat
me in order to stop the Radamu!" Shinya says desperately. "You must kill me, older brother; it
is the only way to free me from the Radamu who control me!" Blade breaks free. Below, a young
officer who looks an awful lot like the Barry Gallagher character from the original series saves
a boy from being trampled and returns him to his mother - who resembles Barry's love interest
from that show. The army forces are shooting at the approaching Radamu, trying to delay their
push enough to get the civilians to safety. Above, they can see the battling lights that are
Blade and Evil. "That's our hope - Tekkaman Blade!" the officer says. Aki still watches the
battle. Evil is injured by one of Blade's blasts, then Blade's forehead gem begins to glow,
and the two crash through into the Ring once more. Evil strikes at Blade, D-Boy unable to
defend himself; but Evil pulls the blow and tells him to go recharge. "I'll be waiting, older
brother. This time, I won't take advantage of your weakness!" Laughing, Shinya strides off
into the darkness as D-Boy summons Pegas. Aki runs toward the section where she knows the two
Tekkamen have entered. She hears someone breathing hard, thinks at first it is D-Boy. As she
gets closer, she realizes it's actually Shinya. He is collapsed against the wall, blood pooling
on the floor - obviously, Takaya has landed a few good blows of his own! Aki draws her gun and
points it at him, clearly thinking that if she shoots him now, D-Boy will be safe. "Ah, Takaya's
girlfriend. Can you really shoot me in cold blood?" Shinya asks, struggling to his feet. "He needs my crystal, you know - and if you shoot me he won't get it." He's right; Aki can't quite bring herself to pull the trigger. "Why are you trying to kill your older brother?" Aki demands. "I have no choice," Shinya replies bleakly. "Only through death will I be freed..." He begins to limp away, but Aki tells him to stay fast; instead Shinya walks toward her. Aki begins to pull on the trigger, but D-Boy arrives. He tells her to let Shinya be. "This is between us," he says. Aki goes to her knees, reluctantly accepting the inevitable. "Shinya..." D-Boy says, and his brother nods, then follows him down the corridor with a grim smile. Shortly the two Tekkamen are battling again, with one of the better songs used as incidental music in the series playing in the background. While there is no quarter in this battle, Shinya has given up on all the rage-filled ranting he indulged in earlier times. His inarticulate screams are as much produced by pain as anger and battle-lust. As the battle progresses, each turns into their Blastor modes, and several times must use energy to repair their armor. Evil finds that the mental deterioration from his own Blastor capability is impairing his ability to concentrate on the battle worse than that affecting Blade. Their battle rages across the skies of Earth, and parts of their fight are caught by video cameras on the Ring and transmitted down to monitors on Earth, where the humans cheer on their hero. Their dual vortex blasts hit each other, and then they collide. Evil gets Blade in the shoulder, but Blade's lance skewers his younger brother through the middle of his chest. The two crash once more back into the Ring. Inside, Blade pulls Evil's lance from his shoulder, and rises; Shinya's cries of agony drawing him. Shinya collapses, and a tiny Radamu bursts forth from the 'eye' on the back of his neck before the armor fades away. It wanders around blindly, squeaking as Blade tenderly holds his dying twin in his arms. "Older brother..." Shinya croaks. "Shinya, why?" Takaya demands, realizing that his twin seems to have returned to him. Shinya glances over at the miniature Radamu. "That's why. The Radamu - it was inside me, controlled me, my actions," he says. "Now, older brother, take my crystal. With the combined power of both Blade and Evil, you may be able to defeat our older brother Kengo." He holds up his tekkaset, and Blade takes it from him even as Shinya's hand drops as death takes him. "Shinya...SHINYA!" Takaya screams, then puts his brother's body down to stomp the Radamu parasite into a puddle of ichor. Aki finally finds him, screaming "D-Boy, are you all right?" Blade pushes her back, and she sees Shinya's tekkaset in his hand. "So, that's it," she says. "D-Boy..." "There is no D-Boy any more. There is only Tekkaman Blade!" he shouts at her, closing the door to the air lock. She pounds on it to no avail, knowing that he and Pegas are now enroute to Luna, using the additional power of Evil's tekkaset to speed their flight.
